Gomikan Practice Taiko Drum
This practice drum, called gomikan, is sometimes called a trash can drum. It’s designed with spring-loaded latches to quickly disassemble for storage or transport and reassemble for playing. You can fit three drums in the space usually occupied by one. It’s got double metal rings at the top to create a solid platform for multiple layers of heavy-grade T-Rex brand clear packing tape. The tension and durability of the tape provide a long lasting and excellent sound. The body is a re-purposed industrial fiber drum, a strong and lightweight material which can be primed and painted if desired.
Every gomikan comes with loops to attach a strap, and two supports to hold the drum for naname style.

Taiko Association of Utah is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The cost of the drum reflects the cost of materials, and includes neither profit margin nor labor charge. Please consider including a donation along with the cost of the drum to support our mission to enable Taiko groups and players all over Utah.
Take care of the drum head by keeping it in a climate controlled environment. Prolonged exposure to heat and cold will cause the head to prematurely warp and loosen over time.
